Design Document


After knowing the design theme of this system game, the first game concept that came to my mind was racing. Therefore, in my game this time, I invited my old friend Meowmeow to become the protagonist of the game, and designed a single running game for it to “Beyond Limits”.

There are three main systems in my game. The first is the timing system. Like all racing games, I've built a timer into my Meowmeow Running Dash, and it starts ticking the first second you enter the game -- that is, you don't have time to prepare, so run! The second system is Meowmeow running system. In this system, I designed two buttons, one representing Meowmeow's left foot and the other representing Meowmeow's right foot. In order to successfully run forward, the player must alternately press two keys. The faster the player presses the keyboard alternately, the faster Mewomeow runs. The third system is the distance counting system. In the game, when Mewomeow runs forward, I designed a variable to store the distance it moves, and displayed it in the UI interface, so that players can clearly know how far they have run.

These three systems, combined with each other, form the game's main mechanics. There's no end to the track -- it fits into the theme of "Beyond Limits". At first, I wanted to design a finish line for Meowmoew, just like the finish line of a 100-meter race, but then I decided that the finish line was also a kind of "limitation", so I cancelled this design and changed to no finish line. I also made different designs on the background of the track, Meowmeow will run from the playground to the forest, then to the volcano, and finally to the universe! All you need to do is run as fast as you can -- go beyond your limits!
